August 2024 Seasonal Update
Hello Campers!
Upcoming Events
Seasonal Campfire – August 17, 2024
Smoke N Spurs Festival (August 30th to September 1st)
Seasonal Campfire – September 21, 2024 β (Potluck!)
What’s New!
You may have noticed some trailers have moved around, all the moves are completed and we are welcoming new Seasonal Guests on Site 28 Brian and Sandra! π
Tiny Canoes!
We have finally finished our first batch of Tiny Canoes! These cute little keychains are available in room service, we have limited supply right now but we will be making more in the future. Right now they are all wood stained, in later versions we will have them with painted bottoms to match our canoes and other boats.
Firewood
We are having some challenges with obtaining wood this season but we are determined to make it! Worst case scenario is we will disassemble Kevins trailer for firewood and replace it with a tent. Kevin’s dedication to the park is amazing with such a sacrifice being made. Unfortunately there is only enough wood in that trailer to last about an hour.
However… We are also receiving three more truckloads of wood and will be picking up some three year dry aged maple cords in the next few days. So we may be able to skip Kevins trailer but it is honourable that he offered to burn it. FYI Kevin: The answer is no, the Denali is not being used for employee housing.
Seasonal Invoices
Seasonal invoices will go out for the 2025 season on September 1st as usual.
We thank you for being our seasonal guests and welcome you all back next year!
LOO Changes
There will be some slight modifications made to the LOO / Park Rules for 2025 which we will detail in our next email.
PotLuck!
Time to start thinking about what you would like to bring to the potluck!
Please let Kevin know what you would like to bring to the potluck and we will add it to the list and try to avoid duplicate dinners. π
RSVPs will go out in September. So no rush, lots of time still!
Picnic Tables
As our tables start to age please let us know if your table is damaged and in need of repair and we will add it to the repair list.

Still not completed yet.. trying! I know some of you would like a spot and we hope to have this fixed very soon! Once completed you will now receive a tag with your site number on it that will be screwed to your spot on the boat rack.
Trailer / Boat Storage (Parking Lot) (LOO Addition for 2025)
Extended storage of full size boats in our parking lots is ending August 1st we simply do not have the room for extended parking of full size boats. You may of course bring your boat with you and use it etc but you may not leave it here unattended after August 1st.
Shower upgrades
We hope you have all had a chance to try out the new showerheads, we apologize for the drywall not being repaired yet but we are now in a challenging time of season to complete the process so it looks like it may now have to be pushed till after labour day. π If there is a break in bookings and we can fit one in we will try.

Those of you with new grass will now be required to mow it. If you prefer not to mow it, you can order a mow mow at any time through the seasonal store:

May 2024 Seasonal Update
Hello Campers!
Lazy Rock opens on May 10th WOO HOOO!!
We are looking forward to another awesome year with all of you and can’t wait to have you back here for the season!!
Updates:
Some sites have had their grass repaired, we have had a terrible grass growing season so please be as gentle as possible with these areas while we wait, hope and pray that some of the grass actually grows!
Unserviced section changes have been completed with Sites 34 and 35 completely re-designed as well as several improvements to current sites and the width of the road in these areas making it much easier for RV,s to navigate.
TerrySr has moved to Site 15 and looking way better, this has opened up site 14 which we have repaired and are praying that grass will grow.
WIFI upgrades have been completed! Initial tests have been awesome and we are confident we have resolved the issues we were experiencing.
We have had a ton of general maintenance and repair to do as well as staining of decks, docks etc. Not quite completed yet but looking great!
There are no changes to the LOO this year however please remember to visit the office at your earliest convenience to sign the waiver for this year.
The docks are in the midst of some repairs to there anchors so you may notice that they are a bit out of place at the moment of which will be fixed very soon.
We have a Otter couple! there super cute hopefully you will see them, they are very stealthy but SOO CUTE.
We have a new batch of baby ground hogs⦠Please let us know if you see them making any holes near the site posts. Please discourage them if you seem them near your trailer or site posts. We have contacted the Taggart Lake Ground Hog Society and have reminded them that they are not supposed to cross the park lake berm but have yet to receive a response..
Beavers have been going ham and have decided to clear site 18 of trees and foliage! They are stating that “they were simply removing trees that were obstructing the view of the lake”. We have emailed the beaver union and reminded them of our policy’s and hope they will follow proper procedure in the future. Currently however the message seems to be being ignored as they swim back and forth with trees while giving us the middle fingerβ¦.
Upcoming campfire dates for 2024 season:
May 18, 2024
June 15, 2024
July 20, 2024
August 17, 2024

See you there!
That’s it for now see you all soon!
February 2024 Seasonal Update
Hello Campers!
We hope you are all having a great winter!
Here are some updates for the 2024 season:
NEW Pedal Boat!
The “Commander” has finally arrived and will be in the water this spring! This boat can accommodate up to 4 guests and carry up to 750 Lbs!

In addition from May 10th to June 25th and from September 5th to October 15th seasonal guests may rent any boat for 1 hour and get 1 hour free!
Shower Renovations
The showers are all being touched up this year including the installation for white FRP panels which will eliminate the drywall getting scuffed up.
We are also working on increasing the water pressure to the showers and ensuring it is equal when all showers are in use at the same time.
Site renovations, moves and upgrades
Terry Jr Retirement: At some point the Terry JR Rental trailer developed a leak somewhere of which we are unable to find. This has caused a musty smell in the trailer of which will take major repair to find. This trailer will still be around but will be used by us for family visitors.
Terry Sr Move: The Terry Sr will be moving over one site to Site 15 taking the Terry Jrs spot. This will open up Site 14 for overnight RV,s.
Site 12 Post: The post on site 12 is being moved to the left, turning this site into a “Pull-in” site , (Pull-Thru for smaller trailers). This will allow for easier parking on the site and enhanced privacy for sites 10 and 12.
Sites 34-37: Site34 is getting larger angled parking by stealing some space from 35. Site 35 and 36 are being merged into a new site 35 that will allow for pull-thru RV rentals. Across from the current 36 the new 36 will be carved out of the forest allowing for a very private back-in site. Site 37 is getting a haircut making the back slightly deeper with a few trees also removed across the road allowing for easier parking.
WIFI Upgrades!
After a *cougfh* few challenges over the 2023 season with the WIFI, significant investment is being made including a 1 Gigabit bridge that will tie in the main internet feed to the top of the Terry Sr. We are confident this will solve the issues in this area.
Boat Rental Procedures Changed
In harmony with Transport Canada best practices we have implemented many changes to the way we rent boats. Feel free to try it out on the room service website:
That’s all for now!!
See you in the spring!!! π
